...for a different kind of girl

silent surburban girl releasing her voice, not yet knowing what all she wants to say about her life and the things that make it spin. do you have to be 18 to be here? you'll know when i know.

'when you get old and start losing your hair can you tell me who will still care'

Just came downstairs to find this note on the kitchen counter. Max is our dog, and this a note the boys left to let me know what his day's been like so far.

In this note, though, I think I see my future. A few years from now, the word 'Max' may very well be replaced by 'Mom.'

"Will you still need me, will you still feed me, when I'm 64?"

('Course, Paul's already got his answer. . .)

I'm trying to come up with some scathingly witty comment here,
especially backlit by your previous post. . .

But so far, nothing. . .

Much like Max's poop. . .

At least that will mean they still care.

Ha! Funny. And this is kind of genius. I need to start leaving these for my husband (about the dog and the baby).

Our dog was old enough that we exchanged lists like this regularly until the other day, when his time had come. My buddy Luke.

More importantly, I want to stalk you on Instagram. *shifty eyes*

Not that I am addicted to IG or anything. Not that I only take photos with IG now and nothing else and have no clue where my actual camera is...

*twitches*

Excellent, I'm glad to see you've taught your boys the value of communication at an early age!

Of course, we thought ours did as well, but that lessens through teen-ager-hood...

On the other hand, I'm not sure I *want* to know about the poop situation now, hmmm...

I don't have anyone to report on the day my dog had. She tells me herself. If I get home from work and there's poop all over the house, it was most definitely a bad day. =/

When put in the very difficult position of deciding whether or not it was time to put the dog down, my 16 year old daughter said:

"She is old, she stinks and she needs diapers. It's time to put her down."

To which I responded by turning to my other two daughers and begged.

"Please don't let her be in charge of taking care of me, you know... later."
